Yeast Infection Bath Apple Cider Vinegar

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
How long does it take to treat a yeast infection using vinegar and yoghurt?
I have self diagnosed myself with a minor yeast infection with only a few symptoms and have decided to treat it by having baths with apple cider vinegar in it, having glasses of water with apple cider vinegar mixed in and eating natural yoghurt with acidofilus (spelling?) How long should it take to get rid of it and how long should I keep it up once symptoms have disappeared to prevent reoccurring infections?
    P.S I am a guy

    • ANSWER:
I'm guessing it would take about three days all together. Keep your shorts clean and yourself dry.

I think it is pretty rare for men to get yeast infections, however. If you are experiencing any oozing/itching please head down to your local clinic immediately for testing. It could actually be a symptom of an STD. Not all STD's stick out like the Lochness monster. A lot of the time there can be no symptoms at all.

  2. QUESTION:
WOuld it be ok for me to use Apple Cider vinegar to douche a Vagina tha has a yeast infection?
If it says for me to vinegar for a home remedy for a yeast infection.. Would it be ok to use Apple Cider Vinegar?

    • ANSWER:
Never douche. It is harmful to the natural good bacteria that lives in your vagina. That bacteria fends off bad bacteria from getting into and setting up shop in your vagina and cause an infection. With out that good bacteria you will end up with more vaginal infections and bad smells. I am 25 years old and never douched or used feminine wipes and I have never had any vaginal infection. If you don't believe me you can read this article:

I know you might think, "They sell douches so they must be safe." But that isn't true. They sell a lot of things that are not safe. For example, they sold lead paint and that was very dangerous.

First are you sure you have a yeast infection?

"The symptoms of vaginal yeast infection include:

      * Vaginal itching that is often severe.
      * Vaginal discharge that is usually white, thick, clumpy, and odorless.
      * Red, irritated skin around the opening to the vagina (labia).
      * Pain while urinating when urine touches irritated skin.
      * Pain in the vagina during sexual intercourse.

Symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection are more likely to occur during the week before a menstrual period.

There are other conditions with similar symptoms, such as bacterial vaginosis or a sexually transmitted disease. Itching and redness of the vulva can also be caused by a reaction to vaginal products such as soap, bath oils, spermicidal jelly, or douches. If you are unfamiliar with your symptoms, see your doctor for an accurate diagnosis."

If you are still not sure you can go to the pharmacy and get a (over the counter) test and find out if you have an infection:

(Although the other products they sell I consider unnecessary bad they are the only ones that make the test that I know of.)

      It's about .

And if you do have a yeast infection you can go to this website and in the top left corner there is a button labeled, 'Treatment Finder' and you can find which treatment would be best for you:

      http://www.monistat.com/

      They are around to .

And if you have an concerns you can always go to the doctor or gynecologist.

But when this clears up I really suggest you wash your vulva and vaginal region with warm water in your shower. Your vagina is the original self cleaning oven. It knows what to do to keep itself clean.

      Good luck!

  3. QUESTION:
Yeast infection and apple cider vinegar?
I have this really annoying yeast infection. I'm a guy. I heard apple cider vinegar helps to cure it. I'm in the tub right now with warm water and apple cider vinegar. Do I have to rinse my with water after the bath?! And does it actually work!

    • ANSWER:
No you don't have to rinse. I think you should try drinking some of that vinegar, try to sock it internally. Consult your doctor at earliest convenience for an aggressive strategy to fight this nuisance. Good luck and I hope you have love, laughter and music in your life.

  4. QUESTION:
How to cure yeast infection because of antibiotics ?
I'm 14 , well I have a peptic stomach ulcer & I was recently put on antibiotics my stomach is getting better but I'm suffering from a vaginal yeast infection !!! I've never had any problems with my vag before and it's just weird!! Right now I'm takin pro biotic 6 billion cells per capsule aphidilous and lact something & 1 vitamin c pill . I'm bout to take a bath with a cup of organic apple cider vinegar ? Do u think this will help

    • ANSWER:
It won't hurt, but you're better off taking actual medicine like Monistat (or Diflucan, which you can get a prescription for by calling up whatever doctor prescribed you your antibiotics). Probiotics can help *prevent* infections but once they've gotten hold they can't do all that much.
